Hi Todd,

I read your blog and thought about it. I actually had the same criticism for a huge church that I was attending. I was complaining about the church not having enough dicipleship and training. What I came to realize though is that some churches are evangelical churches while others are more dicipleship oriented. I think that the pastor at the church I was attending was called to evangelize and he was given a gift to do so. People are given different gifts such as the gift of prophecy, the gift of teaching, the gift of evangelizing, etc etc.

I went to a different big church and they were all about small groups, diligent training, prayer meetings, and etc. Another example I can give is Billy Graham. He was called to evangelize/spread the message of the gospel. But others, are called to tend the sheep. My advice would be to perhaps give that mega church a few more tries and explore what it has to offer and if doesn't help your cause, pray about it and find a different church that meets your needs. I'm currently not doing that strong spiritually and I watch internet live stream sermons @ calvarygs.org on Sundays. However, I do think I need to find and connect to a church good church that I can call home and have some more support and accountability. Take care Todd. Talk to you later.

Wow, I knew you were a church-goer, but I didn't realize how devout you are. I'm actually impressed!

It's kind of scary, the things we've been finding out. It seems like voter fraud is one of the big unknown dirty secrets. The more a person finds out, the more they end up feeling like a conspiracy theorist.
One would hope that with some of the light shed on it, the media might watch it more, although I found the investigation on the acorn situation to be poor. All I heard was the partisan view on it from the right and left. I never once heard a news reporter really go into it. And the Acorn thing is the tip of the iceburg, i'm sure.
Thankfully it seemed to go smoothly this time, but who knows what goes on behind the scenes...see, I'm already starting to sound like a conspiracy theorist.

Obama started something bigger than your average campaign. McCain was just a candiddate, and you vote for a candidate, fair enough. But Obama was a movement, and that's something you follow.

I personally think McCain lost when he ceded the centrist vote to appeal to a diminishing GOP base. Plain and simple.

I think it was well laid out. I don't disagree with any of the conclusions. It was a garbage campaign and below a man of McCain's stature.

Not that I'm the least unhappy with the outcome:)

Hi Todd,

This was a well thought-out critique, and I appreciate the effort you put into it. You are a good conservative, dedicated and eloquent. You also display the strong sense of not being sour grapes, and knowing that the scale of power tips in this country all the time. While I disagree with your assesments of Obama's promised policies, I admire that you saw so many misteps where McCain could have done more to pitch himself in a positive way. He's been a lifelong servant to this country, and that is to be admired. We'll have lots to talk about in the coming years, but it's cool to know that you have dedicated YOUR life to being informed.

Your Pal,
Brian

Good article Todd. This election, to a degree at least, reminded me of Bush vs Kerry. Like Kerry, McCain had momentum going against him, but a very positive possiblitiy to be grasped, just the same. Also like Kerry, he managed to get himself mired in the negative points and never put forth the positive parts of his campaign in a solid cohesive manner. This suprised me, looking at his past, but somehow it happened.
Despite the sour climate for Republicans right now, he should have been able to take this one. Looking back though, it seems all we can do is see spoiled & missed opportunities over the last 8 or so months. Well, here's to building on the positives & looking forward to 2012!

In the last two days, the media bombarded us with Obama stories and they were all positive, and they barely even talked about McCain. it was a foregone conclusion long ago, and the media did their part to help move it along, Cyber Sunday style.
